Representatives from the 10 Latin American and Caribbean countries that are signatories to the Declaration on the application of Principle 10 of the Rio Declaration on Environment and Development held a meeting at ECLAC on 6 and 7 November 2012 to agree on new actions to apply this Principle in the region.
At ECLAC headquarters authorities and representatives of 28 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean initiated discussions to agree on a joint stance for the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20), which was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, in June 2012.
Various United Nations agencies met 8 and 9 February in the headquarters of ECLAC in Santiago, Chile, where they agreed to work together for the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (Rio+20).
