This information system on United Nations summits and conferences reflects the substantive contribution made by the agencies and organizations that are working in Latin America and the Caribbean for the follow-up of such events. With this system, an attempt is made to achieve greater transparency with regard to regional follow-up activities for the world summits.
The system allows participating organizations to add documents or links for any of the summits included, whether they are documents not previously published in the Internet or links to information already available from the web sites of those organizations. The system aims to bring together in one site material that was previously scattered around the Internet, thus making it easier for interested users to find information on the follow-up to United Nations summits and conferences.
The system only allows the input of documents from United Nations regional agencies and organizations. It may, however, be consulted by any Internet user.
The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) acknowledges the contribution of the regional agencies and organizations to this initiative, which will provide the international community with information on regional input for United Nations summits and conferences.
