What are news feeds?

News feeds allow you to see when websites have added new content, and to view new content, without having to use a browser to visit the site. The news reader (known as RSS, or Really Simple Syndication) automatically checks for updates on the websites of your choice. The news reader will alert you, at the time intervals you establish, when new material is posted. You simple click and the news reader takes you directly to the new material on the site you have selected.

How do I start?

You need a program called a RSS news reader. This is the software that checks the feeds (or channels) you have selected and lets you read any new material (texts, video, audio clips) that has been added.
