Dialogues for Inclusive and Innovative Digital Agendas in Latin America and the Caribbean

The Dialogues for Inclusive and Innovative Digital Agendas in Latin America and the Caribbean are a series of events organized within the Regional Plan of the Information Society eLAC2015, seeking a new platform for the exchange of experiences, debate and enrichment of digital agendas in Latin America and the Caribbean.

These meetings allow participants to share experiences in terms of design, institutionalism  and implementation of digital agendas, by organizing seminars, workshops and panel discussions with experts and authorities. These events discuss and analyze issues related to accessibility and connectivity to infrastructure, content development, legal environment, capacity building for the use and development of ICT, as well as models of sustainability and continuity of programs and projects.

There have been three events held within the framework of the dialogues. The first took place on the 8th and 9th of August 2011, in La Paz, Bolivia, to support ongoing efforts by the government in the development of their Bolivian Digital Agenda (ADB). The second was held in Quito, Ecuador, on the 15th and 16th of November, 2011, as part of the launch of the new Digital Strategy Ecu@dor 2.0. The latest took place within the framework of the digital Agenda Forum: towards the implementation of a participatory, inclusive and innovative e-Paraguay platform, held on April 27, 2012, in Paraguay.

These events served as a platform to share the experience of the Digital Plan of Colombia, the Agency for the Development of eGovernment and the Information Society (AGESIC) of Uruguay, the National Bureau of eGovernment and Information Technology (ONGEI) of Peru, the National Broadband Plan of Brazil, Spain's Plan Avanza and the Ministry of telecommunications and information society (MINTEL) of Ecuador, among others.

These events had the participation of authorities and technical staff from government agencies, academics, telecommunications service providers, and civil society organizations.

New editions of the Dialogues for Inclusive and Innovative Digital Agendas in Latin America and the Caribbean are currently in the works.
