El producto interno bruto (PIB) observó un incremento real de 8,5% en 2007, continuando con el ritmo intenso de crecimiento del bienio precedente, en el que aumentó con una tasa de 10% en promedio anual. La ocupación de la fuerza de trabajo mejoró al ascender 3,3% el número de nuevas ocupaciones. La inflación cerró con una tasa anual de 8,9%. Se logró un superávit fiscal de 0,1% del PIB, mientras que el déficit de la cuenta corriente se elevó significativamente a 5,4% del PIB.

Characteristics of the recent evolution

The gross domestic product (GDP) experienced a real growth of 8.5% in 2007, continuing the intense growth trend of the last two years, during which the average yearly growth rate was 10%. Employment increased, with a growth of 3.3% in the number of new jobs. Twelve month inflation finalised the year at 8.9%. A fiscal surplus equalent to 0.1% of GDP was achieved, while the current account deficit rose substantially to 5.4% of GDP.
