Expert Group Meeting on Price Statistics to be held on 27-30 August 2012 in Oranjestad, Aruba.
ECLAC will be conducting an "Expert Group Meeting on Price Statistics", which will take place in Oranjestad (Aruba) from August 27 to 30, 2012.
In accordance with the program of activities for the 2011 Round of the International Comparison Program (ICP 2011) in the Caribbean, and with the overall objective of improving harmonization of price data collection, elaboration and dissemination in the region. The meeting is jointly organized by UN-ECLAC, CARICOM, CARTAC and the ECCB, and aims at:
- analyzing the status of price data collection in the framework of the ICP 2011 in the Caribbean;
- validating the data transmitted by Caribbean countries to the UN-ECLAC;
- discussing major gaps and challenges faced so far and identifying strategies for addressing them in order to ensure harmonization; and,
- discussing and agreeing on strategies for future activities in price data collection on specific areas of work, such as Machinery and Equipment and Construction.
