Reunión de expertos designados por los gobiernos de América Latina y el Caribe preparatoria de Río+20: economía verde en el contexto del desarrollo sostenible y de la erradicación de la pobreza y marco institucional para el desarrollo sostenible*

El objetivo de este encuentro fue ofrecer a los países de la región un espacio de debate acerca de dos grupos de temas sobre los cuales se centrará la Conferencia de las Naciones Unidas sobre el Desarrollo Sostenible, de conformidad con la resolución 64/236, aprobada por la Asamblea General en su sexagésimo cuarto período de sesiones: la economía ecológica en el contexto del desarrollo sostenible y la erradicación de la pobreza, y el marco institucional para el desarrollo sostenible. La reunión tuvo lugar en la sede de la Comisión Económica para América Latina y el Caribe (CEPAL) en Santiago, los días 15 y 16 de diciembre de 2010.

Meeting of Government-designated experts of Latin America and the Caribbean preparatory to Rio+20: a green economy in the context of sustainable development and poverty eradication and the institutional framework for sustainable development*

The meeting was intended to provide countries of the region with a forum to discuss two themes that, further to General Assembly resolution 64/236, will be the focus of the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development: a green economy in the context of sustainable development and poverty eradication and the institutional framework for sustainable development. It was held as part of the preparations for the United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development, at the headquarters of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) in Santiago on 15 and 16 December 2010.
